Whistler: A Local’s Perspective

A lifelong Whistler resident describes the joy of growing up in this Coast Mountain community.

Words and photos by Sean St. Denis

Ever since I can remember, Whistler has been home - but it's more than a place for me to lay my head at night. It is the place where I learned to downhill bike, to climb, to run, to hike, to pack a backpack, and to connect to everything around me. It's where I discovered the stars, the eagles, the peaks, the valleys, and the endless snow. It's where I grew up, not just physically but also emotionally. Nowhere else can I be alone with my camera, or in the middle of a thousand people, and feel at home.
